The Nepal Australian Cervical Cancer Foundation (NACCF) is a non-profit organization that aims to reduce the incidence of cervical cancer in Nepal through targeted programs focusing on prevention, screening, and treatment. The foundation works to raise awareness about cervical cancer, provide education on prevention methods such as HPV vaccination and regular screenings, and support access to affordable and effective treatment options for those affected by the disease. NACCF collaborates with local healthcare providers, government agencies, and international partners to implement sustainable initiatives that address the unique challenges faced in Nepal in relation to cervical cancer.
NACCF has been working for reducing the mortality and morbidity due to cervical and breast cancer among Nepali women. Among all cancers, cervical cancer is the number one killer affecting the Nepali women and their lively hood whereas, breast cancer ranks the second. This has been and still is a major problem of Nepali women. In that context, easily accessible to VIA and Pap smear screening are critically important for Nepali women. NACCF, since 2009 , in collaboration with National and International organization has been implementing different activities for reducing cervical and breast cancer in Nepali such as disseminating education on cervical and breast cancer, HPV Vaccine Program, training on VIA Screening and Cryotherapy for health worker, Cervical Pathology Workshop, Technical Skill Transfer workshop on Cervical cancer screening and colposcopy, Cervical and Breast cancer screening and prevention program and NACCF has also been running a weekly health clinic with the same objective. Since 2008, to this date, more than 200,000 adult Nepali women benefited from our cervical and breast cancer awareness program. More than 61,000 women received cervical cancer screening and preventive services. 42,000 women received breast cancer screening services. A total of 30,560 school girls (aged between11 to 13) were given free HPV Vaccination. HPV Vaccination program financially supported by ACCF and the HPV vaccine was supplied by Axios Gardasil Access Program, USA. NACCF has successfully executed the vaccination program and has the honour of first time introducing the HPV Vaccine in Nepal.
